Skate Van Hage Amwell | How do I book tickets?

You can book your tickets online now or at the booking desk which will be open from 14th November 2019.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | I have booked online, what happens next?

You will receive an email confirmation with your unique barcode so when you arrive you can head straight to Boot Hire where this barcode will be scanned. You can bring this email confirmation on your phone, tablet or as a printed copy.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | I haven't received my email confirmation?

Please check your spam/junk folder as our email may have made its way there. Not there? Please email our booking desk on booking.desk@skatevanhage.co.uk and we will assist you from 14th November 2019.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Can I change or cancel my booking?

All tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Please ensure you are booking the correct session and quantity before purchasing.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | How long does each session last?

Every session is 45 minutes long and starts on the hour.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | What time do we need to arrive?

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your session to allow for queuing and skate exchange. During busier periods, ie. weekends and the week leading up to Christmas, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your session.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Can I hire a skate aid on the day?

Due to Health and Safety, skate aids are limited and subject to availability so we advise you pre-book these to avoid disappointment. We have penguins suitable for 1 child for £5 and bananas suitable for 2 children for £7.

Yes, skate hire is included

Skate Van Hage Amwell | What size skates are available?

Our skates range from children’s size 8 through to adult’s size 15. We also have bob-skates which fit over the top of children’s shoes (up to size 12), subject to availability.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Can I bring my own skates?

Yes you can bring your own skates, subject to a suitability check. Please note speed skates are not allowed.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | What should I wear?

We advise warm clothing including gloves and thick socks. We recommend no loose clothing ie scarfs as these can be a hazard.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Are there lockers available?

No, personal belongings may be left with your shoes in skate hire but these are left at your own risk. Please note bags are not permitted on the ice.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Is there a spectator area?

Yes, around the ice rink there is space to watch and this is completely FREE! Alternatively our ice café is located next to the Ice Rink where you can watch the skaters from the warmth!

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Is there somewhere to buy food and drink?

Yes, the ice café is located right next to the ice rink. Please note only food and drink purchased here is allowed and no food or drinks are permitted on the ice.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Are there toilets in the ice rink?

No, the nearest toilets are located just outside in the car park near the main entrance, we advise you use these before skating as you cannot leave the ice rink with ice skates on.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Are wheelchairs allowed on the ice?

Yes, we would like everyone to give skating a try and be able to join in all the fun. Our ice marshals will be around to help you onto the ice with the wheelchair.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Does the ice rink open in rain/snow?

Yes, we are undercover so the ice rink operates in all weathers.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Is there a minimum age allowed on the ice?

We advise that skaters should be 3 years and older to go onto the ice. If you take your child on at a younger age, this is entirely at your own risk. Please note all skaters will need to wear skates regardless of age.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | How many skaters can go on the ice at any one time?

We have 670.5 sq metres of ice which, based on the NSA regulations of 1 skater per square metres, allows a capacity of 223.5 skaters. However, for all sessions excluding the Parent & Toddler session, we have restricted the numbers to 200 skaters, ensuring a more comfortable skate. All Parent & Toddler sessions are capped to 150 skaters.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Can I bring my dog?

With the exception of guide dogs, dogs are not allowed in the ice rink or ice café.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Can children skate unaccompanied?

Children 7 and under need to be accompanied by an adult, those 8 and above may skate on their own.

Skate Van Hage Amwell | Is there a discount for group bookings?

Yes! If you book online, there is an automatic group discount of 10% when 15 or more tickets are entered into the basket.
